A WORD FROM OUR MANAGING DIRECTOR

Chris Dunn, Managing Director of MMC has worked with Malin for 5 years, spearheading the units efforts across a variety of exciting studies, projects and research efforts. Chris, a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects, has over 30 years’ experience in the Shipbuilding and Offshore Wind sectors in the West of Scotland, including 17 years at BAE Systems working across many of the technical departments within the Upper Clyde shipyards.

I joined Malin Group straight from University, and whilst I had a brief sabbatical, I missed the variety and dynamism of working in a smaller company. The establishment of MMC within the Group, and its subsequent growth has provided an opportunity for me to take more responsibility and work on a wide variety of projects, getting involved in feasibility and FEED studies that investigate innovative solutions, harness new technologies, and drive change. It also provides the opportunity to investigate and propose our own ideas and interest and see how they can be applied in the sector going forward.
I joined MMC 2 years ago, and what a journey it has been so far – I am that continually challenged, and supported to learn, develop and innovate. The role has undoubtedly fueled my passion for professional growth, with an environment where learning is not only encouraged but celebrated. I also get to work with a fantastic team, not only in MMC but beyond within Malin Group. I can’t wait to see what the next few years bring.
Since joining MMC earlier this year, I have been inspired, with the ever-evolving nature of our work ensuring that I am constantly acquiring new knowledge and skills. Often this is across sectors, from defence and renewables to aquaculture and nuclear – no day is ever dull and you have a true sense that you are contributing to the future of the industry!

Malin marine consultants are specialists in concept development, FEED & feasibility studies and research and innovation projects – and they offer clients a single point of contact, through which they may also access the wider expertise and proven capabilities of Malin Group
