Jonathan Brown, Technical Director

Jonathan graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a Masters in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. During this time, he worked in a range of industries including defence, commercial, heavy lift, and oil and gas both in Scotland and China. Since, he has worked for BAE Systems on the Graduate Development Framework, gaining both design and commissioning experience. Following this, he joined Malin Group as a Technical Specialist – Naval Architect to work on developing Malin's long term and concept projects before becoming the Engineering Director of Malin Marine Consultants. In 2020 he was selected as a Future Maritime Leader by the Global Maritime Forum.

amber lithgow, graduate engineer

Amber joined Malin Group as a graduate engineer in 2022 after completing university with a Master’s degree in Computer-Aided Mechanical Engineering. Her broad technical experience covers a range of engineering disciplines, which is combined with eleven years of working directly with clients and customers. This mix of in-depth knowledge of engineering fundamentals, confidence and communication expertise make her a perfect fit for the Malin Consultants team. Amber has worked on a variety of projects - primarily leading MariLight 1 and 2 - focusing on lightweighting ship structures using Topology Optimisation coupled with Additive Manufacturing.

elia bazzucca, graduate engineer

Elia joined Malin Marine Consultants in 2024 as a Graduate Engineer. He successfully completed a bachelor's in Naval Architecture with High Performance Marine Vehicles at the University of Strathclyde in 2023, before joining the MMC team. As part of this small, focused team, Elia will draw upon his proven communication and organisational skills to push forward a number of key projects, driving new and innovative solutions, and the engagement of new clients and prospects.
