Maritime Supply Chain Innovation Centre

1

The Scottish Marine Technology Park (SMTP) will create a new advanced manufacturing location on the River Clyde, offering deep-water access and co-location for maritime and defence businesses.

A core part of the SMTP will be the Maritime Supply Chain Innovation Centre (MSCIC), which will be delivered through collaboration with University of Strathclyde and West Dunbartonshire Council and forms one of six ambitious projects set to be funded through the Glasgow City Region Investment Zone. The MSCIC will operate as an agile, outcomes-focused SME that accelerates manufacturing supply-chain readiness for defence and maritime programmes.

Together, SMTP and MSCIC will remove barriers to entry for SMEs, increase competition, and deliver faster, more resilient industrial capacity aligned to UK defence priorities.

MSCIC will operate as a commercially efficient, independently sustainable enabler, focused on practical delivery rather than policy abstraction. It creates a single point of engagement that aligns MOD, Tier 1s, public bodies, research institutions and technology providers around real SME needs.

You can find out more on the MSCIC below in our downloadable brochure – and we would also love to hear your views, so please do take just 2 minutes to fill in a short confidential survey below.
