Malin Abram were contracted
by Sarens Ltd (working on behalf of Van
Oord) to provide engineering and on-site
support for the load out of a 580T subsea
pile template in Wallsend, Newcastle
Upon Tyne. Van Oord were responsible
for installing 102 three-legged jacked
foundations for their client, Scottish Power
Renewables (part of the Iberdrola Group),
who are building the East Anglia ONE
offshore wind farm in the North Sea.

Malin Abram were contracted by Mitsubishi to design a lifting frame for the
lift of a rotor head and a Nacelle for a
wind turbine. The Nacelle lifting frame
also included the design of the rigging
arrangement.

Malin Abram were initially tasked with
carrying out the structural justification on
the jacket during the lifting and turning
process as well as components of the
jacket structure which also needed to be
lifted and turned during the build process.
As the project progressed Malin Abram
became more involved and also
completed the design of the lifting
attachments, the rigging design for the
main lifts as well as numerous ancillary
lifts, design of support stools and general
lifting guidance.
