get involved in our festive competition
Malin are passionate about supporting the next generation of young engineers – and this is the perfect time to get involved in our STEM activities with our festive competition for 2024!
We have roots dating back to Henry Abram & Sons, who were founded in 1899 – with this representing our 125 year anniversary! And over the past 125 years we have seen such incredible feats of engineering, advances in design, and methods – as well as the use of new materials and new, novel ideas. From innovative vessels, to breathtaking bridges – and customised equipment for ports, marine production lines and transportation projects.
Our ask is therefore quite simple…send us your favourite example of marine related engineering in Scotland – the more unique the better! You then share onto Facebook or Instagram tagging Malin Group by 20th December. *
Once all entries are in, our team of engineers will pick their favourite submission. And the prize?
- The lucky winner will get a Mini Lab 3d printer + filament
Plus, the winner and their full class will be asked to work with our specialist team across 2025 to use the winning picture to design and build a piece of furniture for your local school. This may be a bench for the playground, bike shed – or maybe even a recycle station.
We will work with you to concept design, model, fabricate and then deliver your piece in time for the next festive break!
We can’t wait to see your entries!
*The competition is open to all children across Scotland, who are in Primary classes one to seven inclusive.
We are delighted to offer our festive brochure, featuring a host of STEM activities, to keep the little ones entertained over the school holidays. From elf on a shelf, to gingerbread house structures, there is lots to stimulate their thirst for STEM – and keep them occupied.
