As well as our experienced and skilled welders and platers on the shop floor, we also have a number of skilled colleagues – from project engineers, to our general manager. 

 

 

Lindsey Jessop

General Manager

Lindsey joined the Malin Group in 2020, bringing a wealth of experience developed across her international career to date, as well as a BA (Hons) in European business Studies with Spanish. Her areas of specialism include business development, business start-ups, and most recently 8 years in the Maritime Industry working as Chief Officer on yachts, project managing refit periods. Lindsey is a resourceful, decisive team player, who is well experienced in risk management; she is also adept at building strategic relationships and developing talent. Her new role as General Manager for John Tracey Specialist Welding, draws on her varied skills and experience. She is also currently finalising an MSc in Sustainability and Environmental Studies at Strathclyde University, which will further enhance the skills she has to offer the JTSW team and wider Malin Group going forward.

paul Flynn

Supervisor

Paul brings over 25 years of welding and fabrication experience to John Tracey Specialist Welding, having worked across a wide array of specialist areas – from oil and gas, marine, and renewable energy, to aerospace and art. Paul is the Training, Workshop and Site Supervisor for our specialist welding unit, a role which has afforded him the opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects both onshore and offshore, including mobilisations and demobilisations, pipework repairs and new installs, hydraulic chambers for offshore rigs and pipe lines for aerospace work. A multi coded multi process welder, Paul has current codings in carbon manganese, stainless, super duplex, titanium and aluminium pipes and plates. He is also experienced in welding procedures with various materials in pipe and plate using different processes, has an HNC in Fabrication and Welding, alongside 3.1 welding inspection certification. This enviable experience makes him well placed to lead our training unit, which has seen over 30,000 graduates to date. Paul is passionate about sharing best practice and leads the way with our top tips series on exotic metals

Assistant Project Engineer

Following 18 months of working with the Malin Group, through their intern programme, Logan successfully secured an Assistant Project Engineer role, working for the John Tracey Specialist Welding business unit. Whilst undertaking his internship, Logan also successfully attended University, having recently graduated with a degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. This experience afforded him the opportunity to develop unrivalled project management and planning skills, which paired with his technical expertise provides him with a strong skills set for the role and wider fabrication and welding industry.
