‘I am immensely proud of every one of our team, and the part they played in successfully delivering this project for Babcock. It was fantastic to witness the collaboration between the Malin team, Babcock and everyone involved to carry out the safe execution of this key milestone in the Type 31 programme. This latest roll out and float off operation underlines the expertise of the team in this area, building on the recent Type 26 operations.’

‘When I first decided on becoming a Naval Architect, what particularly appealed to me, was the ability to combine in-depth engineering and design, with operational experience and on-site attendance. Scopes such as this, with the roll-out and float-off of HMS Venturer, are a great example, coupling complex design and engineering, with delivery, as I witnessed years of calculations, concepts and design work successfully delivered. It is both a very humbling and proud moment – and definitely not one I will forget anytime soon.’

‘Since joining Malin, I have been involved in a variety of scopes, spanning numerous countries, industries and clients. It is always difficult to pick a favourite – and I don’t think I ever could, but there have been few projects that have offered the opportunity to be involved in something so iconic, from inception of the plan to delivery at the quayside. Working with Babcock on this project has proved to provide invaluable experience, some challenges – but with them, room for development, and a real sense of pride.’
